SOPHISTICATED Usually sophisticated fashion revolves around the basic colors of black, white, and the various tones. Sometimes playing around with other colors. HIPHOP/ROCKER
Just hearing that there's going to be a theme night it is already exciting enough right?
Woohoo!
So this is like a grand celebration..
Hello! It is THEME NIGHT!
So i guess some must be wondering,
yah then, what's there so exciting about the theme night?
Let me reveal some elements that's enough to make you go Wow..
LIVE BAND KTV
TABLE GAMES
DJ Session (Whee~)
A Specially created "POLYDI.NS" CLIP
That's not all about the special theme night that we're going to celebrate in..
We're going to have some fashion presentation going on!
1. Bohemian
2. Sophisticated
3. Rocker/Hip-hop
4. Vintage/Victorian
So make your decision today,
The following are some tips.. =)
Wear chunky jewelry. Look for natural stones, like turquoise. Long strands of bead in subdued colors, as well a wooden jewelry, also add to this look.
Layer your clothing; combine different textures and patterns. Try a dress over jeans, a tunic with tights and boots, shorts with tights, or cardigan sweaters in earthy tones. If you do decide to mix patterns, stick to a basic color scheme, and alternate the size of the patterns (such as a small floral print with white graphic stripes).
Purchase items in interesting patterns, such as plaid, florals, and stripes.
Buy unique purses and jewelry from vintage stores or flea markets.
Wear scarfs in the winter. Look for nubby knits and floaty, ethnic prints.
Wear edgy fashion pieces, especially those with uniqut cuts and finishings.
The look gives the impression of an urban, decent, couture feeling. Usually up-market.
Go for something simple yet unique. Enough to produce the elegant element.
Understand that having a rocker look is more of an attitude and personal style than a fashion statement or trend.
Add plenty of music related shirts to your wardrobe. Black is always better and the more obscure the band or vintage the shirt the better.
Get a fashionably rock-ish looking hair style. This may be achieved by styling or adding color. Consult a stylist in a trendy salon. Note current trends and modify it for your look.
Add accessories. Heavy bracelets, skulls (subtle), silver jewelry, leather belts, scarves, etc. set rockers apart from the average guy in a Led Zeppelin shirt.
VICTORIAN/VINTAGE
Search for tops in berry and jewel tones. Burgundy, rose pink, ivory, pale yellow, light blue, black, and navy were all popular colors during the Victorian era and should make appearances in your wardrobe, as well.
look for blouses made of lace, velvet, silk, or pretty polyester. Pearl-style buttons and delicate embroidery are some excellent details, too, as are high, dramatic collars.
Layer all your funky colorful shirts, and wear a flowy skirt with leggings and flats!
(For Females!)
Have some unique hair that's all your own.

Most of all the great fellowship of staying and learning together. Till now, i have never regret investing my money from camps bcos its for my growth in Christ.

let us excite for the upcoming camp that will be arriving in about 2 months!
So.. Have you watched the clip yet?
And.. Are you able to pronounce the word of the day: ARETE ?
Bet I got you!
So what's so special about "Arete"?
"Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence (arete), if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things." New Testament, Philippians 4.8.
YES!
Goodness, Virtue, excellence.
And through generation next camp 2008, we will expound further more about the full meaning of "Arete" into our lives. A theme of physicality, quality and excellence to be expected.
So what are you waiting for?
Grab somebody and start preparing for the long anticipated Arete 2008!
Stay Tune for more!

You can leave your enquires on the tagboard too =)
We will try our best to get back to you as soon as possible.
Poly/Di Generation Next camp 2008
Arete in its basic sense means "goodness", "excellence" or " virtue" of any kind. In its earliest appearance in Greek this notion of excellence was bound up with the notion of the fulfillment of purpose or function; the act of living up to one's full potential.
Who are our Camp Committees?
Status: Camp Commander
Name: Abigail Aka Meihwa
Unit Dept: TSPT
What have she got to say..
Hi I'm Abigail. I'm young. Quite pretty and witty. Humble too. I've been serving in PDI.NS ministry for around 5 years. My passion is Performing Arts and God, the Architect/Engineer/Conductor of everything. He is so artistic and cool isn't He? Just look at the evening sky or listen to the sound of the running water... My God~! Being the Camp Commander, the greatest challenge I face in this camp is, there are a lot of challenges, Ha! But I really enjoy leading camp with the rest of the camp comms. They are all passionate for God and for people. I'm honored to be able to serve together with them. Many of times we are so dead meat due to various reasons but God never failed to make a way. Through that, I learned to depend on God and trust in his provision, WISDOM especially! I didn't know I can be so dumb ok, haha. I hope that every effort that the team and I put in will result in a greater camp! One that is God-honoring, one that changes life and one that will impact the world! I'm so excited for camp because I know it's gonna be great! ARETE is on its way! Let's aim to build QUALITIES in our lives =)

This is my first time serving in the main committee in Gen-next camp. But the sound of assistant camp commander really makes me feel like i'm riding a roller coaster! A little scary yet at the end of it, it's the excitement that fills your heart. I'm very thankful for this great opportunity to serve and learn from the team. They have been a great help to me through this preparation of camp. I'm PROUD to be part of it, going through together not just tough times like meeting deadlines but going through mountain peak times too! God is our master planner. I can see Him at work with us! I really learned to seek God in every decision and situations. I'm really excited for the ARETE CAMP! If God is in it, who can be against it! If God is there, who will want to miss this ARETE CAMP!

Status: Events support
Name: Tivona Aka Zejun
Unit Dept: NP (Ngee Ann Polytechnic)
What have she got to say..
Hello! My name is Tivona. I am currently studying Nursing in NP. Am given the honor to take care of a group in NP, and also was given an opportunity to serve greater in the Kingdom of God as the Unit Administrator. I also served as an Usher since last year. Being able to serve in God’s ministry is really a privilege.
I had been involved in food committee for some events last year. This year, God placed me serving in Gen-Next 08! During the process of researching; planning and brainstorming, I reminded myself to look upon God for strength. Although sometimes we may overlooked certain things, but God is always there to remind. As we are serving God not men, therefore we seek Him for directions. The team will meet together to brainstorm for creative ways to organize this camp and for my part, I go to many places to search for nice food for the people! I thank God for the people in this team as well as his blessings!

My role in this committee is to be in charge of special events! How special you ask? Cannot tell you lor~~~ if tell you liao no surprise liao. you gotta come to see it for yourself. If you can buy a pair of Levi's, why not spend it on this camp and get to know God more intimately? =)
Come on! It's coming! Why are you still standing there? Sign Up Leh!!!!!
Status: Publicity Head
Name: Jen
Unit Dept: TP (temasek Poly)
What have she got to say..
Hello Arete pursu-ers! I'm Jen the babe. Some say I'm a self-proclaimed babe, others proclaim that I'm a babe. So I let you decide.. HAHA ;)
As the publicity head, I was called to many challenges. It's my first attempt handling such a role and I thank God for the whole committee and publicity team. They are indeed very supportive of one another as we share burdens together. Together Everyone Achieve More! It's really a privilege to serve! I'm anticipating the fun-filled, spirit-filled camp! See you there! ^^
P.S. God loves you and so do I!
Status: Ministers' Welfare Cum Workshop Coordinator
Name: Donald
Unit Dept: NS Grp (National Service)
What have he got to say..
Hi I'm Donald. People always call me Rain though I know I'm abit not as handsome as he is. I've been serving in the PolyDI.NS ministry for 5 years and currently I'm in the NS group.
I have a passion in baking! America cheesecake, Japanese Salmon dip, Belgium Chocolate Muffins, Tiramisu and more. You name it, I bake it! I love soccer, ice skating, bowling, swimming, running and fighting! I
teach people how to kill in the army camps. So don't mess around! I may include you as one of the ingredients in my receipe.Hoho.
I thank God for this chance to be able to be involve in arete'08 and also to be able to learn from the other main committees. A lot of things to do, a lot of issues to solve, plenty of stress to handle, but I
just love the fact that God uses ordinary people to accomplish great things. Everytime I will just get challenged to do more for God. I have never miss a single camp because I do not want
to miss any chance of encounter with God. Camps always remind me of how far God has brought me
through all these years and all the wonderful things he has done in my life. It is like building a Tabernacle of
Worship at Pasir Ris Downtown East and awaiting God to reveal his glory & presence when we all gather to worship him. After the camp
we will all get so charged up to conquer milestones for God by allowing his presence to guide us through more unimaginable experience. See you at Gen-next Camp 08!
Status: Logistic Head
Name: Jolene
Unit Dept: TP (Temasek Poly)
What have she got to say..
greetings! i'm Jolene, your fellow servant in Christ. i'm very grateful to be able to serve in Arete's logistic team, to contribute to this camp and most importantly to be able to serve anyone who is called a polydian! if u have any areas in which the logistics team can improve to serve you guys better, feel free to aprroach any of us in the team. we're more than glad to hear from you. (: you play a part in making this camp a successful one.
Status: Ministers Welfare Committee
Name: Joel Kou
Unit Dept: DI (Diploma Institution)
What have he got to say..
HI, my name is Joel or you can call me Isaiah. I'm from the DI ministry leading the guys and currently studying in SHATEC diploma in culinary skill.
For this camp I'm incharge of the stage minister's welfare as well as printing all your camp booklets.
my last experience for the camp was tough, because i was new to this. I learned that discipline is really important in the camp committee, becuase if we really want the camp to be smooth, we all got to do our part. And for my experience for the last camp i think was fun and through the praise and worship and teaching i was really ministered, but the best part for me is worshiping God in the morning with all the people, somehow i just like it. SO YOU MUST COME! and experience God's wonderful presence in the morning!
Be bless
Be encourage
Be inspired
By the holy ghost

Name: Richard
Unit Dept: NYP (Nanyang Poly)
What has He got to say..
Hi, my name is Richard and I’m currently studying in NYP. I’m a 3rd year student in electronics, computer & communication engineering which I don’t really like my course but I thank God that I’m graduating very soon! My hobbies are playing basketball & slamming on my poor guitar haha and I’m someone who likes music and fun though I don’t really look like a fun and loud person hehe.
My role as a committee in the camp is the band leader. What I do as a band leader is to find & gather musicians of God who can serve and play in the camp =). My duty also include getting songs from the praise and worship leaders, organizing rehearsal sessions and make sure that the musicians were updated with the songs and information which needed for the musicians. I feel very privileged serving as a bandleader in the camp. Reason is that I’m able to learn and work with different leaders and also other committees in the camp. It makes me feel busy and troublesome but yet it’s really fun!
